GOLF TOURS

FIRST SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1 - Evening departure for your trans-Atlantic flight.
Day 2 - Early morning arrival at the Shannon Airport. Pick-up an 8-passenger minivan with automatic shift. Drive approximately 2 hours to Killarney and check-in at the Killeen House Hotel for 4 nights in 4 single rooms. This is a wonderful, small hotel/inn owned and managed by Michael & Geraldine Rosney. Rest of the day is free to catch-up on lost sleep, relax and perhaps do a little sightseeing or take a walk around the Lakes of Killarney. You may want to drive around the Dingle Peninsula, park the van, and walk around Brandon Point, Brandon Head or Slea Head.

If you are anxious to play an unscheduled round of golf, you probably get on the Dingle (Ceann Sibeal) Golf Club, Dooks Golf Club or Beaufort Golf Club. You will find Michael Rosney (owner of Killeen House) very accommodating and willing to call ahead on your behalf.

Day 3 - Killarney - Killeen House. Tralee Golf Club tee time at 1:00pm 1 round.

Day 6 - You will have plenty of time to pack and drive the 1½ hours to Ballybunion for a 1:00pm tee time on the Old Course for 1 round.

After golf continue the drive north for another 1½ hours to Lahinch. There is a very pleasant short-cut across the River Shannon on a car ferry between Tarbert and Killimer. It operates regularly throughout the day and takes about 20 to 30 minutes. There are no reservations, as it is handled on a fist-come-first-serve basis.

Check-in at the Aberdeen Arms Hotel for 2 nights in 4 singles. This is a venerable, old hotel that has been serving the coastal resort area and Lahinch golfers for years. It is a good, solid establishment that was renovated a few years ago.

Day 7 - Lahinch - Aberdeen Arms Hotel. Lahinch Golf Club (Old Course) tee time at 9:00am 1 round.

For the afternoon on the last day, you may want to try for another round at Lahinch by speaking with the starter, or take this opportunity to visit the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren.
